Meds - Medicines should be used only as a last resort. (Prevention is always
the best cure) You will find hundreds advertised on the internet. Most
of these quick cures don't work, can be harmful and are a waste of money.
Shop wisely you can often save a lot of money on the same medicine by looking
for it at more than one source. Below is a list of medicines, Aids and
Bacteria's that we like.The list in put out for information only and not
a endorsement of any product. If you use this information or any of the
medicine you do so at your own risk.

(Zinc Free) Powder 100% |
Uses:
Ich, fungus, oodinium (velvet), mouth fungus. May also be used in combination
with Formaldehyde solutions. Good preventative after large water
changes.
Dosage: 28.4 grams (1 oz) makes 1 gallon. After mixing, use 1 drop per gallon.1oz per 720 Gallons. |

(Nox Ich, Quick Cure etc.) |
Uses:
Ich, fungus, oodinium (velvet), mouth fungus. May also be used in combination
with Formaldehyde solutions
Dosage: Use 1 drop per gallon, 1oz per 720 Gallons |

 Formalin
and Malachite Green
(Proform-C, Forma-Green, Paracide Green etc.) |
Combination
of the two medications (Formaldehyde and Malachite Green). This will ensure
that ich, external fungicide, external protozoacide and ectoparasites,
mongenia, hirudinea and crustacea are eliminated. Can also be used
as a dip or for longer baths according to parts per million.
Dosage:16oz (treats 4,000 gallons) 1 Gal (treats 32.000 gallons) Formalin Cannot be used with or in the presents of salt in the water. |

(For Flukes) |
Uses:
Dewormer for Nematode and Cestode (internal parasites). The active ingredients
are Closantel (5mg/ml) and Mebendazole (75mg/ml). Will not harm the
biological filter. Very safe for use on koi fish. Not
recommended for use on any fish other than koi (or
long-fin koi) When used in pond water at 3% salt solution, Supaverm will
kill 100% of flukes within 24 hours.
Dosage: (1 cc) per 100 US gallons Re-dose in 3 Days. |

Uses:
Treats
all types of worms except for flukes a one time treatment. Very
safe to use.
Dosage: 1/2 cup per 480 Gals |

“Droncit” |
Uses:
‘Prazi’ is extremely effective for the treatment of external flukes,
liver flukes, internal parasites and internal worms in koi, goldfish
and tropical fish. ‘Prazi’ is a one time treatment and because it is so
gentle, it does NOT require any water changes after treatment and you do
NOT need to bypass your biofilter. Prazi also will work with any amount
of salt in the pond and it is not water temperature dependant.
Dosage: 50 grams treats 5110 gallons |

Uses:
Effective for the treatment of Bacterial Gill Diseases that arise
from stresses due to overcrowding, over feeding, poor nutrition or deteriorating
water chemistry.
Dosage: 100g treats 3300 gallons. |

Potassium
Permanganate (PP) |
Potassium Permanganate (KMnO4) is a dark purple crystals or granules with a metallic luster. It is the most effective way to treat and quarantine your koi. It kills exposed pathogenic bacteria, most parasites, most fluke, fungal infections, algae, fungi (mold) and organic matter. Also effective against Gill and Body Fluke, Costia, Chilodonella and Trichodina. Potassium Permanganate also oxidizes organics in the pond, leaving the water cleaner and fresher than before treatment. However, it is also the most dangerous if not used correctly. | |

Indications
are: Antibacterial Remedy, Rapidly Repairs Damaged Fins, Heals Open
Wounds And Ulcers, Treats Fin And Tail Rot, Treats Eye Cloud, and Stops
mouth fungus. Works best when used in conjunction with Pima Fix.
Due to cost it's best used in quarantine tanks.
Dosage: 1 oz per 300 Gallons |

Bleach
(Clorox etc.) |
Dosage: apply 1 Gallon for every 1000 Gallons of pond water, let stand for 24 Hours. After 24 Hours drain and change ALL water, re-fill pond with clean water and add the appropriate amount of Dechlorinator - reintroduce fish and start filter. To Disinfect Plants add 2 Cups of bleach to 5 Gallons of water. Dip plants for 2 minutes rinse all the plants (and their parts) in a tray of dechlorinated water. |

Algaecide
that can be used in conjunction with beneficial bacteria products.
Dosage: 1 1/2 Tablespoons per 1000 gals or shutdown water flow and sprinkle directly on waterfall, rocks and etc., let stand for a half hour to remove string algae. Follow instructions carefully. |

(NeoMycin) |
Tricide Neo Dip is excellent. Nothing I have seen comes close to this breakthrough in the treatment of Ulcer disease, Fin Rot, or especially Mouth Rot when injections are not feasible. You'd simply mix up the crystals in distilled water, fill a one gallon tub or a five gallon tub depending upon what you've bought, aerate it, and then dip the fish in there for about four to five minutes. | |

A
biological formula of naturally occurring bacteria, enzymes and micro nutrients.
When introduced into pond water that is infected with Aeromonas, Pseudomonas
or any gram negative or gram positive bacteria, the bacteria and enzymes
in Koizyme and Lymnozyme competes with these pathogens for the nutrients
in the pond water thus starving Aeromonas and Pseudomonas. The bacteria
counts (CFU's) of these pathogens will then be reduced to such a low level
that they will not have an affect on our fish.
Dosage: 1Quart (32oz) treats 48,000 to 96,000 gallons; Pint (16oz) treat 24,000 to 48,000 gallons; and and 8oz. treats 12,000 to 24,000 gallons. Treat: at spring startup- full dose every other day for 3 times, than once a week for two weeks, then once a month maintenance. Because 80% of all fish problems are due to these bacteria's this product is a must to have. |
